For this one, we parked in a lay-by right next to the entrance to the quarry on Somer’s Hill (approximate postcode BA11 3LY). This is also a road opposite that you could park on I believe, as Somer’s Hill is a main road. You will also finish the walk with walking along this road for a few minutes, if you choose to do our route, so please be careful of traffic as it is a 60 mile an hour limit, though was fairly quiet when we went. We really enjoyed this route and will be back to explore more of the footpaths round here as there seemed to be loads. Our route is around 5.5 miles and should take you around 2 hours. It follows the quarry path into the woods and loops back round to Somer’s Hill where it starts. There is also a stream that runs through the first section of the woods, which is great for a dogosaur splash!
