There is a fantastic dog friendly beach running from Burnham-on-Sea to Brean, with Brean Down making for a bit of a more interesting walk up the cliff and along to the old fort that has been well preserved by the National Trust. Dogs are allowed into the fort section as long as they are on a lead. There are some great views of the coast from Brean Down - we really love it here. We parked for free in the lay-by near the village hall on Church Road. There is space for around 10 cars here, or there is parking nearer Brean Down if you would rather do a shorter walk - charges will apply for this. For our route, you turn left behind the village hall, and you are on the beach after a few moments. Then turn right and you will see Brean Down so simply follow the beach along and climb up for a nosey. Our route is around 6 miles.
