Walking Route; Nunney, Frome

This is a really lovely walk starting and finishing from Nunney Castle. You can park along the road near the castle - there is also an allocated car park off of Castle Hill (parking charges may apply so please check beforehand). There is a footpath off of Castle Hill and from here the route is entirely off road until you get back to the castle. You will walk through beautiful countryside, initially past a lovely stream that dogs can take a dip in, then a series of large open fields and crop fields. There is one field that looks like it may sometimes have cattle in, but when we walked in the beginning of August we didn’t share a field with any. The castle is free to enter and dogs are allowed to go in with you. The moat is still in tact which I particularly liked! To finish, you could head to The George Inn for a bite to eat or a pint! I’d highly recommend this route. It took us about an hour and a half, but we weren’t rushing.
