Walking Route; East Harptree and Smitham Chimney, Bristol

This is a lovely route in East Harptree that includes both woodland paths and open fields. When we walked, there was one field with quite a few horses in it, and one with sheep. By the looks of it there may be cows in some of the fields at certain times of the year. You can avoid these by either just walking round the first woodland, or parking at Smitham Chimney (BS40 6DA) and walking directly round there as that seems to be livestock free, with wide gravel paths so suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. The route we did was a really great 3 mile loop, we parked on Church Lane in East Harptree and found our way from there, postcode BS40 6BT. There are lots of footpaths and bridleways around here so there will be plenty of variations for the route!
