Walking Route; Congresbury River Walk, Bristol

Congresbury River Walk.jpg

This is a lovely walk along the River Yeo, starting from Congresbury Millennium Green, which has a free public car park. The Green itself it really lovely, with some paved paths, and plenty of space to sit and have a picnic. There’s also a children’s play area (though as of today it is still closed due to Covid19). We followed the river, then turned back and did a little loop back to the start, which included walking through a field of about 10 horses - but they are clearly used to walkers and were not bothered at all by us. We had planned a slightly bigger loop from the end of the river footpath, but there were cows right in front of the gate and we were wimps and turned round! Looks like there are horse jumps along the footpath in places too, so there could potentially be horse riders about. At the moment the river is quite low, so there were only a few spots my little dogs could get in, but if you have a bigger, braver dogosaur that enjoys a swim I’m sure they could get in at a few other spots too! This route took us about an hour but we were walking at a leisurely pace.
