This is a great route of just under 7 miles round Mells, including the beautiful Vallis Vale. A large portion at the start of this walk is along a river that is super easy for dogs to get in for a splash. It then takes you through some large fields (some may contain cattle), and back round Whatley Quarry alongside farmers fields. There are a few small sections of road walking as well. There is roadside parking on many of the surrounding roads, we parked on Park Hill. There is a small car park for Vallis Vale itself but there wasn’t space when we went. If you are going at a peak time, I would suggest avoiding it. There are loads of wonderful footpaths round here to explore. Definitely worth a visit!
