This is a fairly easy route of just over 4 miles starting from the large lay-by on Coach Lane, just before St John’s Church (postcode BA3 4HN).

The route crosses footpaths that are mainly farmers fields, and a few short sections of walking on quiet country lanes. At the time we walked (November 2020), there were no livestock in the fields on the route shown but at certain times of the year there may be cows in some of them. There was also one section of footpath that was clearly not well used, with a metal gate at one end that we had to climb over (we took a photo and plan to report this to the council). There were also a few stiles that may be difficult to get larger dogs over.

When we walked, it was very misty but I imagine on a clear day you would get some lovely views. There are some wonderful large fields towards the end (if walking clockwise) that run along a river that would be lovely for a dogosaur run in the summer!
